HOUSE LEAGUE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

COACHES

All our House League coaches are volunteers, and you don’t need any formal baseball or coaching experience to get started! All it takes is a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.

We’re here to support you every step of the way. You’ll get mentorship, ready-to-go practice plans, access to a coach clinic, and guidance on the skills kids should be learning—everything you need for a fun and rewarding season!

Join us and make a difference in your community while having a great time with the kids.

HOW TO BECOME A COACH

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Indicate interest during your child's registration or email the House League Vice President at houseleague@northumberlandbaseball.ca. Not sure about coaching? Reach out to learn more—we provide support with mentors, digital practice plans, and a coaching handbook.

RESOURCES

Umpiring

Northumberland Baseball is looking for new umpires.

Why become an umpire?

It's a chance to stay active in baseball and give something back to the game. Get the “Best Seat in the House”, and meet some great people with a part-time summer job.

What does it take?

  • Willingness to learn and gain experience
  • Love of the game
  • Confidence and pride
  • Hustle, physical and mental alertness
  • A sense of fair play and impartiality

How much does it pay?

Remuneration is based on the level of baseball officiated.
The higher the level of ball, the higher the level of pay.

What does it cost?

Each umpire must go through an annual umpire clinic. Clinics take place in the spring and vary in length depending on the clinic level.
